What's an XF?

An XF is a high performance journaling file system created by Silicon Graphics that is able to handle large files and offers smooth data transfers. I think this system could affect me later in life if I ever decide to research of any kind. Researchers collect massive amounts of data that must be processed and deciphered. This system would make this process easier and much smoother.
